Set in the lively town of Clifden, country Galway, with the dramatic landscape of Connemara all around, the Clifden Station House has long been a favourite stop for travellers exploring the West. Studio Duffy was commissioned to reimagine part of the ground-floor frontage, introducing a new extension that elevates both the building’s presence and the guest arrival experience.

Our approach focused on strengthening the connection between the hotel and the surrounding streetscape. Through thoughtful attention to scale, materiality, and detail, the new façade sits comfortably within its surroundings while giving the building a fresh sense of clarity and welcome. The result is an exterior that enhances functionality, improves flow, and supports the renewed character of the hotel’s interior spaces.
